Waterproof Oxford fabric feels and performs like heavy duty fabrics, without any of the sewing irritations common with heavy duty materials (thickness, difficulty folding and cutting, etc.), especially since Nylon Oxford fabric is much more durable. This makes Waterproof Oxford fabric even more versatile, as there isn't any rigidity or bulky weight to limit its use.
Both sides of the fabric are waterproof, and the front side is hydrophobic. When rain hits the fabric, it forms droplets and rolls off, keeping the surface dry.
How is waterproof oxford fabric different from PUL fabric?
PUL fabric is designed for wearing, so it has soft stretch and breathability for comfort. Waterproof oxford fabric is suitable for outdoor products such as diaper bags and travel goods. It is a bit stiff and can't stretch, and it is thick and tends to bead up on the sides. In addition, PUL fabric has a clear, breathable polyurethane laminate on the back; waterproof oxford shoes have thicker black or white polyurethane laminates.
